All the two color combinations have overlapping evergreen mechanics. Yet red blue doesnt? This thread is to discuss hypothetical reasons for this. They can be as rational or wacky as you can think of

Personally, I think days before they were starting to debate coming up with one, a group of red creatures decided to TP the blue creature neighborhoods an throw eggs at there houses

Hmm. Flying... Dragons, and all that good stuff. So I guess that could be it.

ok. But the purpose of the thread is to discuss why, why do you think there isn't one?

But there IS one... And otherwise, I think maybe red and blue are SO far different that they really have nothing in common, so no overlapping mechs? I dunno. Can you list the other 9, please?

This isn't turning out at all like I thought it was...

Just list the other 9 overlapping mechanics, please, then I'll discuss more.

i wrote it down, but its at home

I think I've thought of something that could be an evergreen mechanic that overlaps with red/blue

Edit; nevermind, it fits more in white...

Edit: ah crap! It's more of a decidous mechanic

Flying is not color specific except in that it avoids green. Each color combo does have a specific evergreen ability meant for those colors. The list was posted in an article a long time ago. Ill see if i can find that info.

From the source I found, ere are the overlapping mechanics. And sense kaelo said flying is in all colors except green, there's less than I thought

{W}{B}: lifelink
{W}{R}: first strike, double strike
{G}{U}: flash, hexproof
{G}{B}: death touch, regenerate
{R}{G}: trample
{R}{B}: haste
{G}{W}: vigilance
{U}{B}
{U}{W}
{R}{U}

Mizark

I would say that {U}{B} has Unblockable

And {U}{W} is probably the most common color combination to have Flying
