My friend thinks {recoup} gives the flashback to the card without the exile. Can someone please clarify whether or not the flashback card is exiled or not?

Part of the ability flashback is when it is cast via flashback it is placed into exile instead of the graveyard upon countering or resolution. The only ways to not exile a flashback spell is to return it to your hand or library.

even if the spell didn't have flashback, but gained it right?

I caught him cheating multiple times through out our game anyway. Like not discarding with {faithless looting} and putting cards from his hand into his graveyard and vica-versa when looking through it. Drawing extra cards. I'm not sure I'm going to play with him anymore

He also tried to use unearth twice in the same turn and take two combat phases

Eek. That's what I call a "w-only" player. Cause that's all they re interested in. The "W".

I'd have one game of friendly "reminders".

"Dont forget to discard from faithless looting!"

Keep track of his graveyard.

Every turn ask how many cards are in his hand.

He should get the message. If he argues, just scoop and play someone else. Or better, when you catch him red-handed, yell out "yes!!! You DQ'd yourself by cheating! I win. Phew! That was close."

Ultimately, just point it out and make it obvious. Everyone will get the idea. Either that or your friend will end up playing alot of solitaire.

I actually hate dishonesty, and don't want to play him or hang out with him at all any more

Might be a TAD races dive, don't you think? 😉

Overboard. What the .poo., autocorrect?

I've never had a friend do this bc we play to figure out what we need to change in our decks. We are always looking to better ourselves and cheating just ruins it. I have had a similar situation at my lgs tho, the player cheated the same way twice got caught both times scooped and left after being called out the second time.
