So does if a contagion engine were to proliferate poison counters, does that fall under it damaging the player?  Would soul parry stop tht?

{Soul Parry} would only stop the initial infect damage, it has not power over proliferate.

P.S. I added two more ways I survived.

That outcast card is crazy. As for the dispense justice, I am definitely getting some of those for hexproof/indestructible cards. More accurate than {tribute to hunger}
