So I'm waiting until 5am for this beta phase to start.. Anyone else playing the beta or picking up the game when it (re)launches?

Haven't decided yet. Some asian girls at otakon were saying join cactuar. And I think some college friends are going to play on gillg?? I haven't done beta yet =(

I don't think you'd be able to join Balmung then, it's a legacy server :c
I'd be down to make an alt on whatever server a bunch of people can decide on!

Yeah I feel like it'll be hit or miss. Seems like a bunch of us are keen to anime so hopefully we can profile them as Final Fantasy fans too 😁

But even then, I know the original FFXIV put a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths..

Your right, it did. But for a lot of people they werent super hype about it to begin with so if they were like me they just ignored it. "Oh it sucked.. ok oh well"
But this time,  its super hype and looks super good. The director actually gives a **** what people think to.

Yes its an mmorpg. See I never jumped onto the world of warcraft train and have direly been search of a good one. Whether you like ff or not this may still be a game for you. It has two formats, pc and ps3 and both play together and ps3 you can still use mouse + keyboard. So this is what I would do if I were you.

Dang how many servers are there and is there any significance to which is chosen?

There are quite a few servers and there is significane.

1. The regional data centers for each server is in two groups, na/eu and jp
2. The server you choose defines what players you can play with, the only way to play with people outside of your server is to use duty finder but that is all

It may be one of the most anime esq mmos since terra or ragnorak. I would check out some quality videos
