Well we've seen the Monster mechanic "Monstrosity" and Hero mechanic "Heroic".

Refresher-

Monstrosity — {X}{X}{G}: Put X +1/+1 counters on Polukranos. Then, Polukranos deals damage equal to the number of counters put onto Polukranos this way divided as you choose among any number of target creatures. Each of those creatures deals damage equal to its power to Polukranos. Activate this ability only if there are no counters on Polukranos.

(Presumably the casting cost changes and perhaps what the spell does? The active only once is probably the same for cards with "Monstrosity")

Heroic — Whenever [CARD NAME] becomes the target of a spell you control, creatures you control get +1/+1 and gain trample until end of turn.

(The effect likely changes for each card. But the trigger is the same for all cards with "Heroic")

Edit: auras work well with heroic. Aura swap would as well, if they bring it back

The mythic hydra is pretty garbage. A 5/5 for 4 with a fringe-playable ability that will almost never make an impact? Sounds a little familiar...*cough*{Deadbridge Goliath}.

The boros legend on the other hand, looks very good to me. a 3 power first striker for 3 is already solid material. Add vigilance and a sicknasty ability? Psshh I think this one will see play.

This I agree with. The hydra ability is like a mini fight, but he only does damage equal to the counters put on him. Where he takes full damage in return. Useful to clear mana dorks (if any more are reprinted) and that's about it. The double x is what kills it. We can bet on the hero getting  {Dynacharge} and swinging for 6 by himself.

I wish the hydra was better...
the boros warrior is amazing just because he is a 3/2 first strike with vigilance.  then his ability makes everything better...  i mean, those spells include enchantments in the enchantment based block.

I am positive that Elspeth will appear once again as W. She may be multicolored with something other then W but Theros appears to be mostly mono-colored so I doubt it. As for the other Planeswalkers I speculate that Dack Fayden will be one of them. I assume he will be U, but it's me being baseless. The third Planeswalker hopefully will be multi-colored with W G since this combination has not been done before with Planeswalkers.
