Azorius midrange

Now before you leave this Article and think why play Azorius when American is "better"(you might think differently when you finish my article)   please hear me out.

Well to start off these are my points why I think you should play Azorius control or whatever you want to call it:

1. With the popularity of green red aggro , big red, and red deck wins playing {burning earth} 1-4 main boarded and atleast 4
Sideboard. American control and esper play 0-2 basics when when we play 15-16 basics we are still able to survive.

2. for American control to work properly it needs 1-4 {snapcaster mages}, and esper needs about 3-4, With the appearance of {scavenging ooze}s snapcaster is much less affective therefore
Are deck can still run very well because it plays no snaps main or side.

In addition to this Azorius is more consistent being only 2 colors and has less mana problems and is better against aggro.

Now the long awaited deck list:

4 {restoration angel}
4 {augur of bolas}
1 {aetherling}

2 {jace architect of thought}

4 {supreme verdict}
4 {sphinx's revalation}
4 {azorius charm}
4 {think twice}
4 {syncopate}
3 {detention sphere}

4 {hallowed fountain}
4 {glacial fortress}
2 {ghost quarter}
1 {moorland haunt}
8 {islands}
7 {plains}

This is the deck list, I won't give you a card by card rundown but I will give you the rundown.

To start off this deck has the normal  4{sphinx's revalation}
4 {think twice}
4 {azorius charm}
4 {supreme verdict}, along with 2 {terminus} in the sb.

To deal with things like voice, tokens and rekoner, we has {Detention sphere},.

For counter spells we have 4 {Syncopate} we have {negates} and {dissipate} in the sideboard depending on the matchup.

Creatures we have 4 {restoration angel}  , 4 {augur of bolas} and 1 {aetherling}. I can't decide if I want {jace, memory adept} instead of aetherling but he is already in the sb.

And lastly 2 {jace architect of thought}.

Well that was  a quick rundown of the deck hope you enjoyed it and try it out, I will post sb soon and will probably play at my lgs big tournament. Thanks for reading again, Daniel:)

And do you think it needs more win cons beside resto/augur/aetherling beat down?

Mikefrompluto

Couple things.

1. Basic punctuation and spelling.
2. Keep slang to a minimum. While I (and most people on here) know what you mean when you say "big red, red deck wins, voice, resto, reckoner," not everyone does. If you're going to reference a deck by it's popular name, a quick sentence on what that deck does is helpful, as well as using full names for cards. Also a quick explanation on what exactly "Azorious" and "midrange" is.
3. Numbers one through ten should always be spelled out. Match details (0-2, 2-0, etc.) are the exception, but beyond that, spell them out.

Cleaned up, this would be a very nice article. Good job.

How is red deck wins, and big red slang it's the official deck name that tcgplayer and starcity use?

That still doesn't exactly explain what the decks do.

This is from an English standpoint. Not a Magic standpoint. I'm giving you tips on how to write an article. If youre writing an informative piece, then you should always explain what everything youre referencing is.

I follow TCGplayer and honestly have absolutely no idea what Big Red is.

im guessing its like green ramp, only with red. They throw down powerful red creatures as quickly as possible?

Hunteroffire9

Um.. Frank Lepore made a video deck tech on big red, and also if you go to the top standard most played decks it's there.

Hunteroffire9

It's pretty much a red deck that plays boros rekoner Chandra's Phoenix hell rider and thundermaw as there creatures 4 bonfires, and a bunch of the classsi rdw burn it plays defence with burn early game then plays the creature I mentioned
