It's pretty fun actually. My friends and I play different variations. One is: Only your general can be rare/mythic & the rest must be common & uncommon. The second is: You can have as many colors as you want in your deck, but your general HAS to be a mono color (that one is hilarious because sometimes it's difficult to get your general out of the command zone).

Ya our play group also does the non legendary Rare general with a common and uncommon deck.  A lot of fun, that mono green Birds of Paradise general ftw

Well Noah and I made decks and played. I chose {Bloodbraid Elf} and he chose {Bronzebeak Moa} as commanders. It's a really fun way to play I highly recommend everyone make one! :)

In pauper edh the general is an uncommon, but the deck is all commons

The general has to be uncommon? It can't be a common?

So {blizzard spectre} is a legal commander?
