Right, it's not. But it creates a delayed one.

603.7. An effect may create a delayed triggered ability that can do something at a later time. A delayed triggered ability will contain "when," "whenever," or "at," although that word won't usually begin the ability.

603.7a Delayed triggered abilities come from spells or other abilities that create them on resolution, or are created as the result of a replacement effect being applied.

When Plasm Capture resolves, it creates a delayed triggered ability (the part that begins "At the beginning of your next main phase..."). This is no different from any other triggered ability, and Strionic Resonator can copy it.

I like it.  But it'll have to be turn 5 without further acceleration right? Since you need to actually cast the counter.

Yes. But that's why he mentioned "with some ramp." Just one {Elvish Mystic}, on the draw, gets you there on turn 4 if you counter their four-drop.
