{hidden strings} on a evasion creature + {gilded lotus} + {strionic resonator}

Birdbrain

By the way, I think the real string theory is utter non-sense

Birdbrain

You get the ciphers creature through. And before cipher resolves, copy the triggered ability. Unatp the resonator and lotus, then tap them both to copy the ability again and again

Double-O-Scotch

Sounds like more than just a theory...

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to understanding the full effect of combos. What exactly do you get from copying the triggered ability and retapping, then untapping the same artifacts?

Birdbrain

The resonator costs 2 for its ability. Yet your getting three from the lotus. So in effect, your gaining 1 mana each time you tap the lotus

Leevai420

Is the cypher spell cast a triggered ability? Or a triggered spell that gets cast because the creature attacks?  Or am I looking too deep into this?

The1337Magician

Cipher is a triggered ability. "When the encoded creature deals combat damage to an opponent..." is a triggered ability. Copying the trigger before it resolves effectively is copying the spell. The trigger makes a copy of Hidden Strings to untap to copy the ability to copy the spell to untap... You get the idea.

Leevai420

Right on. That's a really badass combo. I can see a good synergy with {young pyromancer}

The1337Magician

 {Guttersnipe} would be better.

Oh wow, I didn't think of that...+1 to both of you

Edit: what would you do with all the mana you were producing?

Plain and simple  {Fireball}

Nice, I just noticed it said "cast" on cipher.  Good stuff.
