9+ to 12+?

I think that this app should be 12+ rather than 9+ and give users a little more freedom to express themselves (though there is already a good bit, some moderators go crazy with censoring) based on the fact that most all users are 12+ and the game the forums are based around is 13+

What do you guys think?

Keyeto

Can we have some examples of moderators going crazy with censoring, please?

That seems negative, and I'm sure us moderators would like to hear feedback if you think we're being too harsh.

Mikefrompluto

I second Keyeto's notion. I would like to know some examples of us being too harsh on censoring.

Since I don't like to get neg karma I usually censor myself such as f$&@, s#!£, etc... But do you guys change it to the ".love." Or ".poo." Or is that automatic?

That's automatic. We couldn't say it ourselves if we wanted!

That's our fearless leader's doing. He coded F, S, etc. to change to less offensive words. If it was us doing it, it would say "modified by *insert name here*" in the bottom right of the post.

Anoobass

Thank you, just never tried and never wanted to.

Sorry for coming across negetively. Moderators generally are very good at their jobs and you guys are. There have been a few instances where a mod will censor something and then chew out the person who wrote it, but they meant no harm. I just think that this app ans the forums should be 12+ rather than 9+.

MuggyWuggy

Forums should always be 18+ or parental consent

I'm keeping my children away from perverts like you

I guess I was just trying to make a point that this is a 9+ forum for a 13+ game. Oh well, if a mod wants to remove this, I don't mind.

Can you give us some examples, please? I think all of us mods would like to know details - I know I'd like someone to tell me if they thought I had overstepped my bounds when I modify a post to keep it okay for the youngin's.

As for pg-9 vs pg-12, is there really a difference? I can't think of anything that would be appropriate to say around a 12 year old that isn't appropriate around a 9 year old.

Coffee Vampire

Exactly my thoughts.

Birdbrain

Does it even really matter? What, will it save someone's life if we change it? Just sit back and enjoy things as they are

I'm interested to know the "chewing out" mods as well. The only time I've been negative when censoring was when I censored my own post lol. I usually try to leave a polite note with a ;) or :)

Saved it!
