Colorless?

Ok, so I'm building a commander deck with  {Animar, Soul of Elements}, can I run artifacts in this deck?

Unless they have a defineable color identity, they are considered colorless and can be run in any EDH deck. {Bosh, Iron Golem} for example, is an artifact creature, yet has a red color identity, and can only be run in an EDH deck that has a General with Red somewhere in its color identity.

That is what I thought, just wanted to be sure. I'm working the angle that animar makes it colorless mana cheaper to put out creatures, so I shall have a ton if artifact creatures in the hopes I'm dropping them for free. See any reason it won't work?
