Any words of wisdom to help make my first deck the BEST deck!?! Lol

BlackJester

Well, for starters I would recommend trying to cut your deck down to the minimum 60 cards.  This will not only improve the odds of you drawing the cards you want to see, but it also forces you to look at each cards and ask "Does this belong?", "Is this card worth keeping in?"

The important thing is to decide what your deck wants to do.  How does your deck attempt to win the game?  Attacking with a ton of little creatures? Building up for a couple massive ones?  Running your opponent(s) out of cards?  We you choose the path you want to take, look at what you need to get you there.

One of the best ways to figure out what you want from your deck is to play with it.  That will help you see how different cards interact with each other.

Finally, one thing I notice a lot of new player do is adding a lot of "one-of"s or singletons.  I would suggest, if you have four copies of spell to try to use all four.  This will help your deck be more consistent and you will see how a particular card works.  If you are still building your collection, no worries.  :)  We all started somewhere.  I would recommend maybe getting one of the Intro Packs, or is you want something a little more competitive (more "winning") try one of the Event decks.  Take a look at what the professionals put together.

Cheers! And good luck.

Thanks so much! I've only played 3 times... I have an intro pack, gotta find a few people to play with lol I will definitely go over my first and strategize more! Thanks again!

BlackJester

Wow! And you've already got a magic app. Look at you go!  I'd say just have fun. Oh, and master the basic rules. Magic can get complicated in a hurry. Never be afraid to ask questions.

StarStruckDawn

I've seen it get complicating! Awesomeness lol! I'm stoked lol

StarStruckDawn

Switched it up, I think it has potential!

Since your new to the game I would suggest building different decks to try out all the different colors so you can get a well rounded feel of them all. When I started i built a white life gain, suicide black, speed red, and a green ramp. I didn't really start messing with blue til here recently(I hate blue, but it's essential in many good decks).

Queezle

Blue is really good. Also you can make multi-type decks so you can have some varying strategies. ;)

BlackJester

Starting with mono colored decks means you don't have to worry about color balancing.

StarStruckDawn

Lol I was thinking about that... I don't have a whole lot of cards... All the more reason to go search the box again right!?! Either way, I like this deck... I'll letcha know how I feel about it after I've used it lol!

StarStruckDawn

So if you were wondering lol used it, disassembled it and made a better all zombie deck  :) thanks again for the tips :)
