Just traded for a  {Progenitus}.  Really wanted it to command a five color, hate-filled EDH deck.  I however, have no idea where to start.  I added some ramp ( {Cultivate}, {Rampant Growth}, etc) and board wipes ({Day of Judgment}, {Child of Alara}, etc) but, have no idea what to fill with.  Any help?

i have a walker filled deck that focuses on doing nice things to people but if you want to go the other way make sure they cant/ dont want to attack you. try things like {Riddlekeeper} and {lightmine field}, and if you run the field, {Vigor} will defend your guys, making attacking even better for you!

5 colour is a tough build for competitive play but always alot of fun to use. The biggest hurdle is your mana base. I highly recommend {birds of paradise}
{command tower}
{chromatic lantern}
{coalition relic}
Getting the right cards into your hand isn't so much the issue as having the right mana to cast those cards. Believe me, there isn't alot more frustrating than a hand full of blue cards and not an island to be found anywhere...lol

I found it helps sticking to 3 main colors in your deck, at least as much as possible. It creates an environment for you to routinely cast what you need. And if it wasn't mentioned, go heavy on ramp(green), and search(black), these colors really help to drive a 5 color deck.

Run one of each shock and check land too, but you want a good number of basics as well

I've been considering one myself, I think I'm going to use a green black blue base (blue mainly for car draw) also probably running plenty of colorless stuff to either help ramp or help keep things/me alive.

It's difficult to find enough cost effective spells without duplicating.  I just figured if I can get my general out, it's basically game over.  Still need help.  Help!

My recommendations for progenitus are threefold.

1) Green for mana. Ramp with cards like {Cultivate}, {Kodama's Reach}, {Harrow}, {Birds of Paradise}, and even {Llanowar Elves}, {Avacyn's Pilgrim}, and {Elves of Deep Shadow} can be extremely useful. On top of ramp, green has spells like {Channel the Suns} that fix your color situation as well.

2) Blue for counterspells. {Progenitus}'s protection is misleading - he is not truly safe from everything! Only damage, enchanting, targeting, and blocking are prevented by his protection, meaning that global effects like {Wrath of God} still kill him. Loading up on blue and holding onto those counterspells to cover that Achilles Heel of his will throw your opponents for a loop, just when think they have saved themselves from him!

3 - Alternate win conditions! Even with all the ramp, a 10-mana commander is easy to see coming, and easy to prepare for. Always have a plan B, and a plan C. Some possibilities emerge in a 5 color deck with ramp like this, too, such as {Door to Nothingness} with ways of returning artifacts from the grave to use it multiple times. You can also try the {Maze's End} + {Scapeshift} into the 10 gates strategy with all of that ramp. Or just have big nasty creatures in your favorite color as plan C ;)

But if he has pro everything he must have pro white so wrath wouldn't work? Right?

Wrath effects still work on {Progenitus} as well as {Clone} effects. It's cause they don't target him. Cloning him is a sure fire way to kill him unless into July 13. Then the new rules take effect.

 {Far Wanderings} is a great ramper IMO; chances are you may get 7 cards in GY faster than you expect

"Protection" is a keyword that stops:
Damage
Enchanting
Blocking
Targeting

Wrath effects do none of these, so their effects are not prevented. The only exception is red wrath effects like {Blasphemous Act} or {Earthquake}, that wipe the board specifically by dealing damage (and damage -is- prevented by protection, even though the spell's effect will hit Profenitus)

Thanks for all the ideas.  Keep em coming. 😃😃😃

Run wierd cards to keep things fun! I run swords for defense but also do political shenanigans to increase interactions with other players, also helps keep you afloat to pull off high mana wins and odd combos
