I think it's used in rdw/burn (modern and legacy?), but I don't know if that alone will sustain its current price.

The rotation isn't until september so some of these cards have plenty of time for constructed play if you have enough money to spare.

The only reason it will drop is because of the mythics from that set. People openned a lot of packs of Avacyn in an attempt to get mythics and therefore popped a lot of basic rares. Playability will be roughly the same post rotation in those burn decks and even  {Varolz, the Scar-Striped} decks if they recieve more support.

Also, {Land Equilibrium} appears to be in the process of being bought out, can still find it at abugames but everywhere else seems to be sold out (still 19.99 at abu)

Down. It's been dropping for years, with spikes here and there but then going down again. He has almost no use outside of standard (from a competitive standpoint).

Modern Masters definitely revived that format a bit more

EDH is becoming more and more popular amongst casuals too, general discussion at LGS is:

Legacy - too expensive
Modern - Fun, but can be expensive
Standard - WAY too expensive to keep up for a season
EDH - Casual, get to see cards actually played - I mean where else will you see an Atogatog?
