You can sell cards to CapeFearGames.com, get credit for MTGOTraders.com and buy stuff on there. Rares are usually half the price or less, shock lands are about $2 or $3 compared to paper counterpart. Uncommons and Commons are practically worthless, you can get them for 3¢.

The only thing that is more expensive are playable Mythics. They run almost twice as much as paper in some cases (like {Sphinx's Revelation}). But overall it is a much cheaper experience.
