So is artefact creature a creature? How do I kill it?

It's a creature. You can kill it with kill creature spells, artifact destroying spells, combat damage and most anything else.

Anything that will kill a creature will kill an artifact creature. Anything that will destroy an artifact will destroy an artifact creature.

Of course there are exceptions, but those will be described on specific cards.
