Every so often, a card will come along that just confuses the hell outta me. One such card lately is {Omen Machine}. I have pulled six of them!

Now I'm going to reword it to what I think it is saying:
"Players can't draw cards. Exile top card of the library at beginning of a player's turn. If its a Land, play it. If it is any other kind of spell, play that spell for free if you can!!!

Have I understood this card right and if so, WHY ISN'T EVERYONE RUNNING AT LEAST ONE!!!

BlackJester

I think this card could be a lot of fun for sure!  Thing is, it's like {Howling Mine}, {Neogenesis}, and other cards that help you and your enemies. Your betting on the fact that the cards you flip will be better than theirs. Risky, but I'd totally try to build around it.

It does not say skip their draw step so I believe you would draw a card as well as exiling the top card first.

BlackJester

Ermm, it does say "Players can't draw cards." that means for any reason. {Preordain} or anything else won't work.

Spikepit

It does say players cant draw cards, though.
Yeah good! I figured that was the case, it did actually remind me of Howling Mine! I just needed to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I have been thinking of putting this card in a deck with {Knowledge Pool}: FREE SPELLS FOR ALL!!!

Mentonin

Knowledge wouldnt work with omen. It says u have to play the spell from your hand to exchange with the knowledge one. With omen you would play it from the exiled zone, so would fail

Spikepit

Ah yes, very true. It has been a while since reading over K.P. I should check things in future (I have the worst memory ever)!

BlackJester

Lol you can't memory every card ever printed. ;)

When I get around to it, i'll post my {Knowlegde Pool} + {Hivemind} + {Pact of the Titan} deck.

I was just playing an EDH 5 player game where one of my friends had {Prototype Portal}ed {Omen Machine}... Having six of those on the field makes for a 'interesting' game :)
