{Necropotence}. I know what it does, but why do people like it. It seems like it hurts me and nothing else.

It's amazingly powerful. You put it in a deck with low costing cards, and at the end of your turn, fill your hand right back up. The card advantage gets ridiculous. Throw in some {Ivory Tower} cards, and {Dark Ritual}s and you have yourself a very easy win condition with {Tendrils of Agony}. That's how I built my Necropotence deck, and it never lost. Very strong card.

It's funny, I thought it was junk when I first saw it.

The decks of its day were pretty potent.

Its a {griselbrand} that you can control more. I want to build a deck around it so bad.

can you bump it?

I pulled some in packs way back when and never really thought much about them.  I thought it was kind of cool, but couldn't really wrap my head around how I would want to play it.  I really think it depends on your play style.  I prefer a more aggro style, so it doesn't fit we'll with me.  By the time the deck starts really running, I want to have my opponent on the ropes.  But then again, I could be wrong about how fast those decks work.

{Necropotence} is a card advantage I personally despise playing against. ESPECIALLY in EDH. The fact that you start at double life, and each life could potentially be a card.... Sure you lose life but you gain so much card advantage it is kind of a non-issue. If you're playing black, I highly recommend it...

Actually, I  dont think I posted it on here. I'll make it real quick and post it for you. It was my version of a classic mono black Necro deck.

It has been posted! I titled it "Black Summer", since the inspiration for the deck came from the necro decks that created the horrific Black Summer itself.
