Isn't part of playing competitive working with netdecks also? You know..because those are the decks you're most likely to face on a competitive level.

Yes, but the next level up in my opinion is finding non-netdecks that do well in your meta that no one is expecting and doesnt have sideboards for. ie, cifka's eggs in pro tour rtr. It was a sorta net deck but no one was really expecting it which allowed it to do well because no sideboards were tuned against it.
Edit: also sam black's the aristocrats is a good example of this as well as kiblers modern naya

A writing sample can be anything from a tournament report to a deck tech to whatever. People included are expected ~ 1 article per week. Streamers can do whatever they want. People whose articles we like will be sent a message saying they are in. We want good, polished material. We can also post videos like the ones on Channelfireball.com.
