So if you were to be able to unban 2 cards from the moderns ban list, ban 2 card and reprint 2 cards to make them modern legal how would you do it?
I would unban  {Stoneforge Mystic} and unban the artifact lands
I would ban  {Reshape} and  {Splinter Twin}
And finally i would reprint  {Force of Will} and  {Dark Ritual}

Bozo_Law

I would unban {Ponder}, {Seething Song}, and {Jace, the Mind Sculptor}.

I would ban {Tarmogoyf} and {Deathrite Shaman}.

Mikefrompluto

Unban? {Ponder} and {skullclamp}. Ban? I don't know enough about Modern to have an opinion on what should be banned. Reprint? {Reaninate} and {animate dead}.

Silent1236

Unban {Jace, the Mind Sculptor} and {Stoneforge Mystic}
Ban {Lotus Bloom}
Reprint {Dark Ritual} and {Force of Will}

Moneekahh

I'd unban  {Wild Nacatl} and  {Ponder}. I'd ban  {Emrakul, the Aeons Torn}.

{Skullclamp} is banned in legacy a much more powerful format. I support them keeping  {Skullclamp} banned but i would love love live to see  {Animate Dead} be reprinted

They banned key parts of the fun decks that can win easily and quickly, but left decks like Eggs going.  Fortunately they nerfed storm.  That could be annoying.  And it'd be nice to see JtMS in more than commander and legacy :P

Unban: {Jace, the Mind Sculptor} and {Umezawa's Jitte}

Reprint: {Force of Will}

Legacy format banned list hasn't been touched in too long. There are probably about 10 cards that shouldn't be on that list, {Skullclamp} is one. A deck running {Skullclamp} is pretty specific. Storm is still legal, yet clamp is banned?

{Mana Drain} is an example, nobody runs {Counterspell}, what could you possibly net for X with {Mana Drain}? Most spells are barely above 1CMC, and when they are, {Force of Will} fits that criteria. If {Mana Drain} were unbanned it would just reach the kitchen table, unless it creates a new archtype which is more then welcome in Legacy.

Edit: Ultimately I think fast mana like {Dark Ritual} is bad for any format. Mostly any broken combo comes from those cards and Moxes.

Legacy is admittedly dying, revised editions of dual lands are in the $100's. Wizards has created Modern in an effort to overcome all of the pre-color pie, pre-reserve list, pre-M10 rulings from the past. I give them props for doing it, I also am saddened by their insistent involvement in formats. Legacy works because everything ever is represented, even supplemental material (like Commander decks,   {Scavenging Ooze} was a staple of Maverick, and cant be used in modern). I don't like them dictating what is legal and illegal, and especially when they have a no reprint policy for Legacy staples.

I know they walk a fine line, they can't make cards worthless - then no one would buy bulk and resale. Modern Masters is a move in the correct direction, the ban list is totalitarian. Modern format deserves a chance to be able to play with cards until they've become banned.

I can get behind {Chrome Mox} for fast mana.
I can understand {Ancestral Visions} for being automatic includes for blue.
I can slightly understand {Bitterblossom} for getting the clock started too early. (Now that we've got {Abrupt Decay}, not so much.)

I can't for the life of me understand {Golgari Grave-Troll}, {Green Sun's Zenith} or {Jace, the Mind Sculptor} (with nearly every single Cawblade enabler banned). Then once the format has been strip mined of good cards: {Cryptic Command} is $30 and {Vendilion Clique} is $50? {Venser, Shaper Savant} is $15? What is going on?

{Skullclamp} was actually changed to its current mode because they thought it was too powerful. I think originally it was +1/+1, they felt it was too OP, how wrong they were. The +1/-1 ended up breaking it.

Still, with sufficient answers in place, it will go away. The types of cards that end up sticking with any format are cards with the fewest playable answers. Storm is broken for those reasons, no card can reasonably break up those combos.

Unban {bloodbraid elf} and reprint {dark ritual}

They wont unban things in legacy wizardswants legacy to die out and  {Mental Misstep} was just banned last year.  {Green Sun's Zenith} needs to stay band it would give green a maindeck answer to every deck inthe format by siply just playing a 1 of a certain card,  {Golgari Grave-Troll} isnt as bad considering  {Dread Return} is banned so i see what you mean their, and  {Jace, the Mind Sculptor} wizards said he was their biggest mistake ever and they wont unban that card it would create to many problems in modern and if it would get banned again. Modern stables that are too expensive will be in modern mastery and that set is going to be opened more than return to ravnica. If you are a modern player now i would recommend selling all prezendikar stables and stock up on post zendikar things like the fast lands, fetch lands and cards that see modern play because theg wont be in modern mastery

i would love to see {wild nacatl} unbanned. Although, that would probably involve making an awnser to it...like maybe a card that can change lands into other land types? Don't know though. Other than the obvious 3/3 for 1 why did it get banned

And dudecore. I think they banned some of those cards for the same reason they banned the rebel deck and other decks way back when...because they don't like seeing the same decks over and over at pro-tour/world championships. Because they think that makes for a boring game. Why don't they just make awnsers to those cards/decks? It baffles me why they drop the ban hammer on a card just because they want to keep the meta diverse, when they can just freaking make awnsers to those decks in the next set

I can understand lack of design space, so why don't they just release a speacil mini set to make the meta more diverse?
