If I attack with {Geist of Saint Traft}, and then blink him out of combat, does my angel token still leave play at eot, or does it stay?

The angel still leaves. It's already got the exile ability imprinted upon it. If you'd like to keep an angel, your best bet is to populate before the angel disappears.

Yeah.  I was thinking {Rootborn Defenses} would work good for that.

Just to be clear, the exiling isn't part of the Angel token's ability. It's the result of a delayed trigger that goes off at the end of combat, and is set up by the initial trigger of putting it on the battlefield.

Follow up, similar topic. Does the geist's angel contribute to a battalion trigger? For example if I attack with only  {Geist of Saint Traft} and  {Firemane Avenger}, would I get battalion?

MementoMori

You need to declare attackers to trigger battalion, so no.

The angel will not trigger anything when attackers have to be declared.  Things like battalion and exalted are unaffected by it.
