There's many different ways to play the game. I find that I gravitate toward aggro quite a bit. I like to deal as much damage as fast as possible. This is just my mind set. But, I don't want to become known as the aggro only guy. So, my question is, do you guys have different style decks, or do you stick with one type? How do you deal the change in mindset in the way each deck is played?

Umbra

I've been trying to get out of the Aggro mind set but it is really hard...

I'm currently trying to build a deck that could go with any play style. That way, I can be flexible with my strategy

That's why I'm making the angelic frites deck I have posted in standard. I like doing big damage and getting big creatures. As an aggro player myself it's gonna be a hard transition.

What two colors are best or combining aggro and control? To were you could switch your strategy aroun without changing your deck at all

All-Mana Mania

I usually play aggro/midrange. For dragons maze prerelease im gonna try to do midrange (Izzet and hopefully boros or dimir or simic or gruul lol)

Rass

Check out other players decks or event decks. I tend to buy each event deck to get a different way of playing

I'd say {G}{B} or {R}{B} black for removal which with so much aggro right now is really good. Red can be super fast. Or green can get really big.

what about one that doesn't use black? I might make one with one of those two color combos. However, I don't want to be limited to those two colors

I won't play anything but control decks. Everything else is not fun to me, but that is the best part.

I've been thinking about a {G}{W} control style deck. There's some funny things you can do to ruin people's strategy.

I like big swingy things.  {Emrakul, the Aeons Torn} is possibly my favorite creature, for example.  In the past, I've played aggro-ish and tried my hand at control.  So far, I've found that I'm more a midrange type player.  And turbo fog.  I love that deck haha.  Tron and turbofog were all I had for a while, and now I'm working on a Naya midrange/aggro deal for standard.

Rereading this, it doesn't make much sense, so to sum up, I like midrange :P

I love combo decks the most. But they mostly are for casual play, and don't make the cut for a competitive environment (except for {Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker}, who is an absolute beast). So for competitive play, I tend to lean towards a more aggressive playstyle.

Bozo_Law

I tend to play Combo and draft almost extraordinarily. I have never lost a draft match in an irl tournament. I also taught myself how to play High Tide and Eggs with no prior knowledge on how to play them.
