Making me answer a question about banding.....

Banding simply (lol) makes them blocked as a group and changes who assigns the combat damage to what. All combat damage is still assigned, so lifelink won't be changed.

I always thought you would have gained one life (using your example), but my views changed since I played Duel of the Planeswalkers with  {Wurmcoil Engine} and Tezzeret Kept gaining six life, made me rethink lifelink.
