What game type do you play?

Legacy and EDH.

Legacy will never die for me, because I have the dual lands I need. My playgroup is Legacy based, we tried Standard - but I just outspent everyone and they didn't see the point.

EDH is a lot of fun if you play with good people. If someone is too competitive, it can take a lot of fun out of it. But most of the time it's just great. Every hand is different, every game is fun. Wizards doesn't tell you what you can and cannot play, they don't dictate the environment like they do standard.

Both formats are more expensive then Standard, for sure, but your EDH deck takes on your personality, the cards in the deck are close to you. Legacy is just more fun IMO, and more healthy. There are thousands of competitive archtypes in Legacy, and each match is intense.

Modern and EDH. Also recently we have all built casual noob deck to teach my brothers gf to play, and its actually really fun because the decks are so evenly matched.

The best way to describe how my group plays is: Casual Legacy.  No card if off limits.  You can play un-cards, banned cards, 4x restricted cards.  As a general rule, we don't net deck.  We use it as a chance to be creative.

Oh you just gunna bump something and not contribute? Is that what's hot in the streets?

I've been playing legacy a lot with my intro to legacy deck, and tons of casual. Used to be nothing but standard but I find standard quite boring.

Mike you get +1 I burst out laughing when I read is that what's hot in the street.

I started out just playing casual, but me and my friend are getting into standard and hopefully we will start entering FNMs and taking home some prizes. We've been working on the same decks going on 2 months now and I'd really like to see a payout soon.

At times when you lose, the most important aspect is what you learned from the loss.  Just something to keep in mind once you start playing competitively.

With that said, best of luck to you and your friend both.

Standard, I also take standard deck to modern fnm

I play standard. Standard is fun for me, I love the competition and the ever-changig enviornment! One month an archtype dominates, a few months later it doesn't even exist! Pretty cool.

I want toget into EDH and build a group hug deck based on {Phelddagrif}.

I love R/G, so I play aggro... When I first started playing back in the 90's before I took a 10 year break, I played a RUB control deck, with land destruction, counters, direct damage and only 6 creatures, 2  {Demonic Hordes}, 2  {Sol'kanar the Swamp King}, and 2  {Nicol Bolas} as my wincon
