Speaking of d00shery. At FNM last night, a guy tried to steal a {temple garden} and {deathrite shaman} from me. What happened was he {nightveil specter}'d both cards round three and after it was over, shuffled everything into his library. I told him, in a nice manner, that I needed my cards back. He argued with me saying he did give them back until I counted out that I had 58 cards in my deck. He was acting shady about the whole thing, so I warned his next opponent on the sly.

That's not d00shery that's robbery... That kind of person would be expelled from our playgroup immediately if he did that on purpose...

Hence why playing with unique sleeves is actually a bonus insurance. "Hey look, that's my card in your deck, haha!"
"Oops, here you go"
Problem solved.

Theft is no joke. If you call someone out on it, and they don't respond in above fashion, I'd be wary as hell about the character of that person.

Shady people can have a high five, to the face, with a chair. As far as I'm concerned.

Funny thing is I had plain black Ultra Pros. He had green Dragon Shields with some sort of graphic on the back. There's no way you don't notice that when youre shuffling into your deck. I also had to tell his friend, who was sitting next to me playing his match, to keep the commentary to himself. That's one thing I can't stand. People commenting on what's in my hand before I play it. It ruins the whole "poker face" element of the game.

I will not let people stand behind me when playing

Mikefrompluto

Nor will I. I hate people doing that in general.

Rass

I agree and if I'm watching I try to get to the middle so I cannot see anyone's hand.

I mainly play with my friends and every now and then i accidentally shuffle some of my opponents cards into my deck, not intentionally though. However, i am always the first one to notice and pass the cards back. One time i was playing at fnm, accidentally shuffled 2 of my opponents {detention sphere}'s into my deck, neither of us noticed, but when i got home i was combing through my deck, and there were 2 {detention sphere}s in my naya midrange deck. Once i figured out what had happened, i got his number of a buddy, contacted the guy, and gave him a few rares as well as his cards because i felt bad about what had happened.
Now that im done telling my story, that guy sounds like a thief, plain and simple.

Double-O-Scotch

Ya, I dunno how many times I've shuffled spirit tokens or some such into my deck, but that was clearly an attempted theft...

I hate when Im playing against someone and someones behind them saying "Play that one!" or "He's got {Card Name} on the field, so just play this!". If I'm playing 1 on 1, I want to play 1 on 1, not 1 on 2. I've seriously looked good friends in the face and said something along the lines of "Shut the .love. up and let him play his own deck" before.  That's a huge pet peeve of mine.

People at my LGS are good about not interfering with matches. I don't mind if people stand behind me where they can see my hand, because I know they won't say anything, in my favor or against. People are naturally curious, and it's fine if they want to watch and see what I'm up to, as long as they keep to themselves.

I can't imagine playing where people don't respect that basic rule. Respect the match, people!
