I you filled a deck with nothing but cascade spells. And possibly {laboratory maniac} would that be an effective strategy?

Birdbrain

Never mind. You put all the cards back, plus it says "less"

Moneekahh

I've heard of people trying to make a deck around  {Laboratory Maniac} before. To me, he just seems like a (Terrible) option to sideboard against mill decks.

Birdbrain

He's really more of a buffer for a {psychic spiral} deck just in case you accidentally over do it. I'm just trying to find ways to turn him from a supporting role to a main charecter

Bozo_Law

Well, here is legacy Oops! All Spells! that uses him as a win condition.

Gorzo

There's a reason {Bloodbraid Elf} was just banned in modern - and it's not because she's a 3/2 for 4 mana.

It's definitely the haste that pushes her over the top😂

Maybe they could have made her a 2/2 for 3. Then, the cascade wouldn't have been as powerfull

Cascade as a mechanic is just broken on top of normal cards, I don't think you really need a figure out a way to break it.
Wasnt trying to. It was {laboratory maniac} I was focused on

Wally

What are you going to do about mana? And on that note the lands you might need in your deck...

{shardless agent} which gets plenty of play legacy.

Storm is the most broken mechanic ever. Cascade probably comes in 2nd. Free mana is never a good idea.

I'm guessing your not a big Reanimator fan, then?

Reanimator is fine. It's actually challenging to play against too. Lots of things have to happen for Reanimator strategy to work. Storm on the other hand, and in every format it was legal, makes games less fun IMO.

Silent1236

Makes sense.  I just find Reanimator to be a bit cheap with the whole paying 2 mana to bring back whatever you feel like bringing back.  While it does take a bit of a setup, it's still not hard at all to T2 {Sheoldred, Whispering One} consistently.

As for storm, I wouldn't have the patience to wait for all the spells to start stacking.  And cascade is crazy.  {Bloodbraid Elf} into {Geralf's Messenger}/{Domri Rade}/{Liliana of the Veil} is some . Domri not as much, but still frustrating.  It's like built-in cheating :P
