Double Strike

Hey guys, what's up?

So, my question is:

Lets say that the player 01 has a creature 1/2 that has double strike, and the player 02 has a 1/1 creature that also has double strike. If these two creatures fight each other, who would die? Only the 1/1 or both of them?

I'm asking this because since both of them have double strike, I was confused about the first strike part.

They both deal damage at the same time.
First they both deal first strike damage since both have doublestrike.
After that both would deal normal damage but since the 1/1 was dealt lethal damage during the first strike damage he is dead before the normal damage is dealt.
