Collecting cards

I was just wondering how everyone was getting the cards they wanted when a new pack comes out. Buying a bunch of booster or fat packs or just buying a bunch of booster boxes. Another idea I had was to buy the box of common and uncommon. Then buy the rares I want separate. So I guess my question is what do you guys think is smartest or more cost effective. Thanks. Please give your answer and explain why.

I get the variety pack (a box a fat pack and five intro decks) I enjoy opening pack. Then I'll watch eBay and if I find something cheap I'll grab it. Then I go to drafts. It levels the playing field and you get three packs for about the same it cost to buy three packs and you have a chance to win more packs.

i find its always best to go after a specific card youre after than to get lucky by opening lots of packs. unless youre rich then go for it. most packs do not have a good return on investment. ebay is good or trading at a local store. good luck.

Thanks for the input. Everyone has a valid point. I like the idea of getting all the intro packs, pretty cheap. I like the boster boxes too just don't like spending that much but I will probally do that when the new pack comes out. For now I guess I will ebay for what I need. Thanks

Yep you have to figure out what is most fun to you. Like I said I enjoy opening packs and drafts. Making decks isn't as fun to me so I just play with what I get

Sealed tournaments are great, fat packs are a great way to get a good range of cards, a cool dice and a box to keep your cards in. I've been getting the cards I don't pull in those online. Saves having a heap of common cards that you will never use.

I find TCGPlayer and EBay the best way to get my cards at a good price.  But it's the thrill of the unknown and the chance of that rare treasure that keep me risking my hard-earned cash on the occasional booster. I don't know Jester, I figure they're from the same color and they share some distantly related abilities ({Kukemssa Pirates} and {Ninja of the Deep Hours}). Maybe this age-old feud is all just a big misunderstanding.

I've had the same feeling ({Nephalia Drownyard}, for example) and we goddam well better!
