Hey guys I'm new to mtg and just started playing fnm. I run a 70 card deck and I was wondering is that to big I know regulations say 60 minimum. It's a very creature heavy deck with a lot of instants and enchantments that will boost the damage an blocking ability

60 cards. The more you have beyond that the less likely you are to pull what you need. Think of it this way. We both sit down with a deck that has 8 cards that say I win no matter what if I have all 8. You have a 9 card deck and i have a 8 card deck. Who is going to win more often? This is the extreme example that wa used when I first learned to play.

Tutors and deck thinning helps if you need to run more, and extra draws are incredibly important, if you have more resources, you will need to dig more to see the cards you want/need. Now of course this is made even better if you have these things and then only have 60 cards to start with.

I would recommend building a sideboard with the cards you can't fit into your best 60, ending up with a total of 75 cards (sideboard has to be 15 cards - no more, no less). That way you modify your deck to be ultra effective all the time.

This is something I am also teaching myself/learning too. I never used to have sideboards but my deck was always more than 60. This way is much better.

Welcome :)

Like the boyz from da hood said, try to keep it at 60. There's nothing wrong with running say, 62. But 60 is best. Post your deck in the standard section so we can give advice! I'd love to help.

If you used the in-app deck builder, you can go to your deck there and select "gathering" under tools, and it will post it for you under the forum you had labeled the deck as (Casual, Standard, Modern, Commander, etc). Make sure your deck has a name! Unnamed decks will be deleted by us dastardly mods.

Otherwise you can go to the appropriate section and just make a new thread manually.
