I know a creature without haste cannot attack or tap for a ability about what about mana ability such {Air Servent} or level up cards? Can you use thier abilities/level them up right away?

BlackJester

Any ability that doesn't involve attacking or the (un)tap symbol (TM) can be used right away.  You could even tap fresh creatures for abilities like {Captivating Vampire} or {Urge to Feed}.

While were on this subject. If and opponet has a creature that has protection from zombies and I play say, {Skinrender} does it work? What about a zombie creature card that effects all their creatures and not targets them lets just say theres a zombie that gives all opponets creatures -1/-1. Then would it work even if it had protection from zombies?

Since skinrender is a zombie he wouldnt be able to target anything with pro-zombie.  That second part: dont quote me but i believe it should. The zombie that gives oppenents -1/-1 targets the players battlefield not the creatures themselves.

Correct, can't target pro-zomb with a zomb; however a zomb that gives all creatures -1/1 will still give the pro-zomb -1/1 since it is not targeting him or dealing dmg to him.  So a zomb that dealt 2 dmg to each creature when it entered the BF, hypothetically, would not deal 2 dmg to a pro-zomb. ðŸ"¨ capice...

Ok try this one, can a protection from black creature with a -1/-1 token on it stop the proliferate ability that {Spread the sickness} gives me? (I used it to destroy another creature obviously)

BlackJester

Proliferate. (You choose any number of permanents and/or players with counters on them, then give each another counter of a kind already there.)

The word "target" doesn't show up, so no targeting.  No targeting, no protection.  It could get a counter.

Wally

Nice, what if the creature with the counter was hexproof? (come to think of it I'm pretty sure it was that and not pro black)

Same thing, Proliferate doesn't target.

Wally

Yeah that's what we came up with, tho there are very few rules for both proliferate and hexproof, so we had to play it that way. Always good to sound off against others tho :)

Okay i know this will come up in a future game of mine. Can {Sleep} affect pro-blue or hexproof.

I hope I can preemptively answer a bunch of questions this way:
Hexproof prevents targeting. Auras target and spells and abilities with the word "target" in them target. Nothing else. Solid?

Can a fort protect me from goblins?

Yes, a protected thing cant be: 1. damaged(is prevented);  2. Enchanted/equiped(cant be done, will drop off if it gets protectionafter already enchanted/equiped); 3. Blocked(it cant be blocked by but can still block); and/or 4. Targeted(cant be done)(Short is D.E.B.T., as BJ would say) by the things it is protected from . Anything that doesnt have this things can affect them. Hexproof and shroud only protect against Target(hexproof against your oponents targeting, shroud against all players, including you). Get it?
