If i play a {faith looting} and draw the 2 to my hand, but i have no cards, can i play those cards before the discard 2 resolves, or do i discard instantly

You have to finish the spell before you can do anything else. If the two cards are the only ones in hand, discard'em.

The reason is because there is actually two parts to a spell (normally anyway). You cast it, and then it resolves.
If you wanted to play an instant it would have to be before you draw the cards, as that spell is resolving. You can't pick parts of the spell to resolve at different times. (unless it explicitly says so).
It all comes back to understanding how the stack works and the difference on when you cast something and when it resolves.

I want to say no you cant. The card resolves you draw 2 discard 2. Its not: resolve-> draw 2-> resolve-> discard 2.

Nope. In this case the whole card is on the stack rather than being activated by something such as "At the beginning of your end step..."
