Rob

I have just recently started collecting.
I can already see that there are gonna be a lot cards coming that have to be stored in one way or another...
So here are my questions : What is the best storage system for magic?
What do you do with all the excess cards?
How do you keep track of your collection?
Any suggestions on boxes to use?
Let me hear your ideas...

I must say i am really enjoying the forum. Always ready to help one out! :-)

Get the holiday gift box! $20 at Wal-Mart. Comes with a 2,000 card box, four RtR boosters, and a promo {dreg mangler}. I use mine for commons and put uncommons, rares, and mythics in a binder.

Holliday Gift Box is the ticket. It's practically full customizable, you get Return to Ravnica packs, the dividers are wonderful and the box is very sturdy. I recommend it.

Sad I couldn't find where to get one of these in Australia.

I use the fat pack boxes. I've had to use the bottoms and the tops for cards as there are just too many...

Decks are in their own deck boxes of course.

Yeah I never saw any of them till my friend got me one for  christmas. I checked wallmart almost  everyday the weeks before and after and didn't see them.

I use the cheap, white, bulk trading card boxes for commons/uncommons. Your LGS will have them for a couple bucks at most (they often use them for their cheap cards, too. Labeled dividers keep them sortedby set.
Finally, I use a binder with clear sleeved pages for rares. That way, when trading, people can see what you have without getting them dirty/scratched and there's less risk of someone pocketing one.

This.  I just use the holiday gift box to carry decks, dice, and extra sleeves in case some break.  Yeah, Ultra Pros don't seem to last long :P

My friend got a box of expensive watched for christmas, and tht came in a large industrial box that looks like youd carry a claymore with. Inside the foam divided the 3 individual watches. He cut ou the foam to perfectly fit the length of his cards, and now carries around a damn lockbox indestructible bomb case of decks around. Its the most ludicrous thing ive ever seen.

My friend has a 3 foot long guncase with foam inserts that he uses to carry his decks. The goddamn thing weighs like twenty pounds. It's pretty damn stupid when he uses like 5 of the 25 decks he brings.

It's nice to have the options

Right? I love the Ultra Pros, but those things love to split right as you're about to play.
The new Ultra Pros they have suck quite a lot

Every time I use UP's, it makes me appreciate my KMC's and DragonShields that much more ;)

Dragon shields are the best sleeves ever. The only drawback is the way they display foils, for some reason they never look quite good.

I have an issue with how much dirt they attract, though. It's like they're magnets to it!
