Well that definately isnt control. A control deck bases it's casting off the opponents actions. There was a deck i played long ago that used {stormtide leviathan} to lock the board and swing for the kill while the opponent floundered in the leviathan's ability. The rest of the deck was ramp and counters/ bounce. It worked really well.

Im having trouble thinking of anything that really fits your description. Either rush in or hold off and play conservatively, mixxing the two doesnt tend to work too well.

I tend to play conservatively. But that's where izzet guildmage comes in. He can copy {rampant growth} while I keep my opponent at bay with {unsummon} and {dissipation field}. Then, after you've kept the opponent off balance long enough, hit them so try can't recover. Like izzet, doesn't it do that kind of? Excluding the mana ramp that is

{izzet guildmage} can produce infinite mana with {desperate ritual} or draw infinite cards with {manamorphose}.

Ok. So after talking to me, what would you recommend for my deck?

{frost titan} and clones or {stormtide leviathan}. Both can be backed up by ramp and control and played mid or late game. I used to play a {heartless summoning} deck that dropped turn 3 or 4 frost titan then cloned it multiple times the next turn. His counter ability keeps him alive and the tap ability freezes their lands putting you ahead (via ramp or reduced cost) and them behind which in conjunction creates a very large gap. You can use cards like {beast within} and {pongify} to turn their lands into more managable and predictble threats that are removed easy. Those are my thoughts at this time.
