So I don't understand how soul bound works, can someone explain what it dose

Gorzo

When a creature with soulbind like  {Hanweir Lancer} enters the battlefield, you may pair it with another creature you control that is not currently paired with another creature using soulbind.

If you do, both the soul binding creature, in this case the {Hanweir Lancer} and the creature you paired it with gain the ability described by the card with soulbind. In this example, both creatures will gain first strike. The will keep the granted ability until one of the pair (either one) leaves the battlefield, breaking the bond.

If you have a creature on the battlefield with a soulbind ability (we'll use {Wolfir Silverheart} as an example here) and that creature is not paired, when another creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may choose to pair it with the soulbind creature (the Wolfir). So if your Wolfir is not paired, and you cast a creature, you may pair that creature with the Wolfir. This bond works the same as I described above in the example with the Lancer.

Does that help make it clearer? If any other part of the mechanic is still confusing you, let us know! A lot of people have had trouble understanding soulbind, so we understand ;)

Ok. You can soul bound and enemy's creature too right? Like an illusion just to kill it. Because the ability reads "you may soul bound this creature to another unpaired creature. But they remain paired as long as you control both creatures." So then you could pair your bound creature with a illusion of your opponents control just to kill it.

Soulbond does not target.

BrosEler123

But it says to another unpaired creature.

BrosEler123

Yeah remains paired. Witch means that they can be paired for an instant.

Gorzo

You must control them both for them to be paired, even for an instant.

Soulbond also does not target, so it won't kill creatures like {Phantasmal Dragon} and you can soulbind with creatures that have shroud. As long as you control them both ;)
