So firstly this is long but dont be discouraged it may get fun. I am trying to come up with ideas for d and d night ! I want a ridiculous character with a funny backstory. Right now my friend is part fish so my other friend is making his character the gobbler an 8" giant who eats everything so when he meets my fish friend he's gonna say fish stick and attempt to consume him so just a character that can do fun stuff like that.
What I came up with was:
Elgretor the Sorcerer born an 80 year old human Sorcerer with a peg leg who has no tolerance for rudeness, thievery, poor grammar, or young people. He uses his staff as a walking stick to keep up with "those damn kids," and participates in battle with illusions, attacks, and a couple of spells. Due to his age egretor cannot adventure or long periods of time as he forgets the task at hand ... Basically this leaves a lot of room to do stupid stuff with.
Anyways post your stories below we can have fun with this

I take it this isn't a serious campaign where you'll be getting into a lot of combat?

peepew

No very casual campaign. Right now my friends have started it off by attempting to become a pirate crew and stealing a ship. They attempted to kill the guard but he yelled for help and they had to run as knights swarmed the area 1 knight challenged my friend as he was running and he turned to accept the knight stabbed him breakin his sword and my friend rolled a natural 20 pulling the knight into him as my friend chopped his head off. So we're kindaaaa outlaws right now

Well you shouldn't really ask for ideas from people. Your character should be your own thing, so you can just do what feels natural instead of trying to act along with someone else's idea.

I'm just looking for funny ideas to work off of. I just started playing and it's hard initially :P

As characters age their intelligence goes down and their wisdom goes up, I know that. So I'm sure your character has low intelligence. You should ask your DM for a pendant or trinket that grants enough Intelligence to give you a +0 bonus, so you can function normally as long as you have it. That way you can do normal things when you need to, and your friends can mess with you like it's the Orb of Confusion.

If illusions are his main combat source, you could always add a touch of senility - believing the illusions are real, and they are his grandchildren coming to visit him or something.

"Willard? Willard is that you again? So kind of you to visit and keep an old coot like me company... You look so good, like I did at your age! Oh those were the days...Did I ever tell you about the time I met your Grandma? It was at the local bazaar, I went to pick up some new shoes after my old ones exploded, and there she was, right at the...WILLARD PUT THAT GOBLIN DOWN YOUNG MAN THAT IS NOT PROPER BEHAVIOR FOR A GENTLEMAN."

Have him do a lot of strange things by accident.. Very strange things
