So I was looking through my cards yesterday and I noticed I have more than 2 playsets of the {Flowering Lumberknot}.
I don't think I've ever seen him in a deck, so I guess the challenge is to make a deck where he features as a effective card.

I'd like it if we could throw some ideas around in here and see if we as a community could come up with a use for this inert card.

Thanks and good luck!

{G}{W}?  {Silverblade Paladin} on him??

Soul bind the ever loving crap out of your deck so he always has a buddy. Silverblade, {Wolfir Silverheart}, {Nightshade Peddler}, even  {Nearheath Pilgrim} and {Spectral Gateguards}.

Awesome! I guess post rotation there isn't as much removal as there was.
I just feel that he's so vulnerable out there when removal is being played, remove his buddy and you have a useless creature doing nothing.

I was also thinking if there may be a good graveyard use for him or even a good fight target with prey upon?

{B} has the one soul bound that gives both hexproof.... So I guess a bant soulbound deck would be the best option to go. As for prey upon well with a 5/5 almost anything is dead to it 'cept big hitters.

Wally

{Elgaud Shieldmate} gives the hexproof.

I threw together a deck see what you think...

This deck would probably do pretty well in block constructed if build thoughtfully.  Unfortunately I don't think anyone plays block constructed, and if they did I doubt they'd be playing Avacyn.

Funny you say that, right after RtR came out I was running block constructed W/R Humans (Boros!) and getting top 8 at FNM all the time. The only cards which were from Inn and DKA was a playset of {Hellrider}, {Thalia}, and {Champion of the Parish}
