Soooo expensive

Why is it that control decks are soo expensive to make I made one on here that was worth $505 which I think is crazy

I am making one pretty cheap. I just went half and half for the izzet vs golgari deck and picked izzet. Then im taking the preconstructed izzet deck from return to ravnica. And sifting through commons and uncommons. Built it for 35$ and it runs great so far

My controll deck is 650 and that is nothing for a legacy. It is standard though.

Easily....crap, my izzet is about 400

Standard is the most expensive format to me. It's the pace of it, a new set comes out every 4 months? I know the most expensive decks are legacy and vintage, but at that point it's an investment. Those lands won't lose value, whereas in standard a peaked {primeval Titan} saw north of 25$ and now it's 5-7$

My deck is around $100.  How can you spend so much on a deck?
