I need help! Im going to start going to fnm and participate in the "tournament".
I need to know how to play tournament style! What to expect! What to not expect ;D
In going with my BUG Zombie deck wich currently only features {Diregraf captain} as blue but i want to add H-lich and grimgrin. But enough about the deck! I need to know what the hell is going on! And what i should do!

Bloodguilt

Fenster, Post your deck on the forums and ask what decks will hurt your strategy. But really be ready for anything you'll see all kinds of decks. I used to play a U/r shape anew deck which was similar to u/w shape anew but better against aggro decks.

Went 4-1 FNM, the match I lost was sloppy play on my part, and 1 outright face beating from Rakdos. I was quite happy. I feel like it needs more counters, but everything is so inferior...

More often then not, I used {Snapcaster Mage} as a flash blocker, because of all the special hate paid toward him, I hardly had anything in my Graveyard, also a complete lack of a way to reload my hand. All things to overcome in due time.

Working on a Naya Midrange deck. I think with {Restoration Angel} and it's interaction with {Huntmaster of the Fells}, {Thragtusk}, {Thundermaw Hellkite} even down to {Boarderland Ranger} can be pretty darn awesome.

Coffee Vampire

I went to FNM to trade with people for my new jank deck and someone let me borrow a GW deck. Went 3/2 with it so that's cool. But my main excitement was that I got 2 packs...in one was dreadbore AND a foil dreadbore. Next was rakdos's return. That night I traded for most of what I need. Ima happy camper :)

I'm wanting a UW Talrand deck and does Delver beat {Judge's Familiar}?

4x *
4x {Snapcaster Mage}
3x {Talrand, Sky Summoner}

I'm having a dispute with my playgroup. We basically play Legacy, but some of us said "let's try standard". I have an obvious advantage of money, I have 4 of nearly every good standard card: 4 {bonfire of the damned}, {Snapcaster}, {Thragtusk}, {Cavern of Souls} (not even in a deck at this point), {Geist of Saint Traft}, ect.

My ability to outspend my opponents has lead to Standard not being fun at all for them. I am a firm believer that {Snapcaster Mage} is the only way blue is playable, and therefore draw their ire. The best creature in our meta is {Ash Zealot} and {Desecration Demon}.

Since I'm such a spike, I don't see why they should play 6/6 on turn 4 is "fair" and I can't use {Snapcaster Mage} to reuse my graveyard? But that is why I'm appealing to a different crowd, I like control and playing blue. I need a budget control build without $5+ cards in it.

I've played long enough to know that players are butthurt about counters. They feel like they should be able to curve into every spell that they want to cast. But since the best counter is {Dissipate}, and it isn't conditional, the upset is being able to {Snapcaster Mage} and reuse it. That is 5 mana. I feel like I've got to dumb it down.

Standard is an environment of self-fulfilling prophecies. Blue doesn't get awesome cards because {Snapcaster Mage} is around, and you need {Snapcaster Mage} to compete because blue doesn't have awesome cards. {Thragtusk} was designed to bypass control ({Unsummon} and a myriad of destroy effects), but unfortunately becomes the go-to card for any deck with Green in it, because its so good and such a threat.

Why can't you use snapcasters, especially if they are using ash zealots that are pretty much designed specifically to go against snappy? I think the answer would be to increase the fun everyone can have, instead of limiting/reducing the amount of fun you can have just because you have more options readily available.

If the price/value gap between you and your friends is really that great that your friends are saying it makes it less fun for them, have you considered sharing your decks, lending them cards, or allowing proxies? Any of these options will let your friends play beefed up decks on par with your own without them spending a fortune to "catch up."

I posted this in general chat yesterday but was overshaddowed by the next and more popular topic.. :P

A card I would really like to see reprinted in the current block is {Trailblazer's Boots}.
What's my chances?
Thoughts?

I don't think it will see major play. Cards that don't really cantrip, give buffs or protection don't often get played. I mean...for cheaper you could {Artful Dodge}, just nobody plays that card because unblockable just doesn't warrant a spot in the deck. I could see them printing it again, it's not insane or meta breaking, it's uncommon.
