{Abrupt decay} goes for 20 usd (rough estimate, 220 sek) at my lgs!
I know its good but wowza! I did not expect that!

Double-O-Scotch

Great early game. Not so great late game. However it is an instant...i dunno, I'm reserving judgement on this particular rare...lol

Fenster

Im glad because its good against that pesky skeleton cage and that pesky R.I.P

Rass

A 2 mana cost that cannot be countered and can remove up to a 3 mana cost card. I see value in that

Fenster

Yeah but 20?
I expected it at about 10

Coffee Vampire

It isn't just good in standard. It's a real hardcore sexbeast of a card fer sure!

Fenster

I guess its that uncounterability :(

smokin terry

I'm glad they brought back {smother}. And they made it uncounterable! And not just creatures! Smother was my favorite 2 cmc kill spell. I would like to see it drop to $15 but in all honesty I'm fine with $20.

Prophylaxis

It will drop. So many people opened it at the prerelease.

Fishsticks123

The pure reason it is so good is that it can destroy pretty much anything except jtms in modern and legacy.

Dudecore

{Abrupt Decay} has standard and legacy implication. It is a good card, probably around $5 is right. IMO is really above the curve, and it's difficult to put a price on uncounterable. Legacy and modern actually have better answers, but not many.

The fact that it really only kills small things is a drawback, but it's cheap and efficient removal. The uncounterable portion is almost irrelevant, cheap removal almost basically never gets countered anyway (unless its like turn 1-3)

DirtyMustachio

Lets not forget it can hit flipped cards
Bye bye garruk and huntsmaster

Fenster

Wow that makes it even more powerful...

Don't believe that works. It should still use the CMC of the primary side...

Edit: Hmm. From what I'm reading, however, they ARE treated as 0. This makes no sense to me, seeing as it is the same object. The Kamigawa flip cards counted the CMC of the top side.

It seems to me that there is no mana cost shown in order to prevent someone from casting it transformed.
Yeah, ratchet bomb for 0 hits all werewolves when they are flipped. Dreams when I found out = crushed.

DirtyMustachio

Oh yes it works. Lol, just like ratchet bomb.
