Special lands n stuff

Right , complete novice and something has cropped up with lands that have extra abilitys , such as ' tap, and add <mana> to your mana pool.
So my ? Is.
When you tap this land do you generate 2 mana from the one card or just the one mana as mentioned in the ability?

I'm guessing you mean lands like {Seachrome Coast} which can tap for one of two different colors. When you tap it to use it, you chose which color and add one mana of that color and that's all.

One or the other.  All basic lands have the ability tap and produce one mana even though it doesn't say it.  Tapping is paying the cost for a certain ability.  You cannot tap something more than once for 2 different abilities.

This is true in most cases, however in the case of lands such as {azorius chancery} you tap once for both mana.

Thx! Has cleared it up, so tap the land, choose the mana color, not, tap the land get 1 general mana, and 1 of your choice depending on the card of course.
