Yeah {W}{G}{U} turbo fog is going to be very viable. I can see myself building that deck.

Too bad it wont be in standard. Tfog is useless without {rites of flourishing}, then it's just fog with a small hand an not enough fog.

I'm sure with all those blue cards out there there must be some way to draw extra cards, (gosh, could even use {staff of nin}) and well green surely still has some mana ramping. (it looks like every color has one of those tap for mana artifacts)
Might need to think outside the box a bit, but those are the decks I like making :)

The idea is you want your opponent playing their threats faster than normal so each fog and wrath covers more of their stratagy. I suppose if you got really creative with {otherworld atlas} you might be able to pull something off, but without them playing double lands they wont be playig theirbthreats fast enough and will still have steam when you are finally out of stall spells.

On the flip side a classic blue white control deck with a fog twist might actually work pretty well. My mentors however would say "why take the slots that could be used for more control to splash an inferior deck into it?" I do love proving them wrong...when i can

Is there a card like {deciever exarch} being printed in rtr? Something that untaps a permanent And/or artifact you control?

{zealous conscripts} keeps those combos alive.

Selesnya guildmage feels too slow to me, and I can't help but feel that {Firemind's Foresight} is janky.

And like someone said earlier, it seems there's a TON of rares in this set.

Is that true? Or am I just gullible. Sad story for those (like me) who were looking to purchase a play set of common and uncommon..

So every color has a graveyard hoser. Every guild has an uncounterable cycle. Every guild has great removal. So knowing what we know now, who's up for rating the guilds? I know things still have to be broken, and interactions we wouldn't expect haven't dawned on us. Let's go for some gross criticism!

Izzet - C
Expensive. Overload costs a fortune. It's creature abilities cost a fortune. I don't imagine playing overload at all, and for that reason they get a low mark. The spells are weak and cost a lot for minimal effects, but then the overload becomes injustified. Would have liked to see more burn and more library manipulation.

Golgari - C-
Another costly ability. Scavenge costs too much, minimal effects and you can still bounce the creatures. Would have liked to see more destroy spells and more graveyard certainty (every color has a very very cheap way of keeping creatures outta graveyards. {Rest in Peace})

Azorius - B+
Best guild I've seen so far, and actually the closest to each color identity. It combines white weenies with what is essentially tap effects ({Arrest}). I think the ability can create a lot of tempo, and the removal cards {Detention Sphere}, {Azorius Charm} and other blue spells ({Unsummon}, {Cyclonic Rift}, {Terminus} ect.) is gonna help. The real star here is white, blue has taken a step back for now, but it will be back.

Selesnya - B
Tokens are great, populate is great. Tons and tons of room here for improvement. It appears to have the most interesting strategy. It has a number of ways of getting the same job done, and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Rakdos - B-
Of all the guilds, Rakdos strikes me as needing the most help from other cards. It's going to need Innistrad block to be playable, otherwise it has a lot of drawback creatures, fair amount of burn and some life loss. I'm giving it a good grade. Massive improvement over previous Rakdos. The "evil carnival" vibe is great flavor wise.

Personally I like the idea that we are moving further away from turn 3-5 win decks in standard. I like the idea that we will see more cards being played and that games will be more interesting. Especially with guild themes (I wasn't around for the last one) but I'm actually excited at how this will play out.

Also dudecore I think you are under selling the power of overload. Especially against hex proof creatures, etc. also do note that it seems that every guild has some ramp, so that extra stretch of mana may not be that hard.

As already mentioned, we will see many more 3 colored decks being played which I believe will open up to many more possibilities.

Also I understand the main focus will be around standard, but I'm also interested to see how the new set will affect the other formats like extended and modern, and even commander.
