So, that's Jarad's somethin' else, eh?  Can't wait to use him in a Golgari deck.

I am unimpressed by him. Can i get a few people to spell out why they believe he is so good? I am looking at him from a standard persective though, and i don't expect to see him in a top 8 deck at any major event.

Well. First off. He won't be standard. Because he is from old ravnica. Sorry to busy your bubble. 😔

He is fan freaking tastic in the new duel decks. Any dredge/graveyard mechanic works with him. First, you dump him in your graveyard. Then, you fetch him to your hand. Then you play him for a very reasonable cost. Then he's huge. Then you use his second ability to either sac his or another creature to make EACH opponent lose life equal to that creatures power. So. You bomb your creatures to decay the players. If you play this right, you can take out everyone in one shot.

He'll go well with {Life of the Loam} dredge decks of old.  Plus he has two relevant creature types.

Yes, he's RTR. Jarad is the new Golgari guild master. So he will be standard, and even though he shines best with dredge, I can see him being used in standard with sac-heavy and morbid decks. I don't think I'd go so far as to day he'll see much top 8 play, but he certainly has a home or two.

Ohhhh I just figured he wasn't the new guild master because he was in the duel decks with the old niv. Interesting. I still say he's gunna rock with the morbid and counters aspects of standard though. He's gunna be best buddies with {splinter frights}
