I think out of all the uncounterables, the rhino may reign supreme. The new DoJ can't be countered, but control usually isn't high on creatures anyways.

The rhino is good against blue AND black control. Pretty good. Plus it's like obliterator...more PT than the CMC. I wouldn't mind making a junk deck that lets you discard him to get him out early. Pox anyone?

You actually can't discard him via your own spell to cheat him into play, says spells opponents control. :)

And in terms of uncountable cards, this is why we have things like {Nevermore}... If you absolutely need to deal with it, there are ways in standard.

I'm just happy each guild has at least one (and there's only going to be one) answer to Snappy+{Syncopate}.

Please reprint a solid counterspell..please!

Syncopate is alright, but a 2 cmc hard counter would be nice.

i just love cards with {X} in the cost AND sassy art ;D

Dudecore

It's not the cards themselves, they're not invincible super cards that will change the game, it's the fact they exist that troubles me. I understand they want you to drop a cool 15/15 creature because thats fun and exciting for new players, but you're removing necessary strategy from the game.

Not really at that point you have to SWITCH strategies

Syncopate is more splashable, which is good with RtR.  Also exiles the card, which is good vs Golgari.

It's pretty effective considering most people nearly or completely tap out for spells in the first few turns.

So loxodon smiter is preselling for under $5, I thought it'd be a little higher.. {thundermaw hellkite} was also preselling really low and that spiked. Could we expect a price spike with this card and should I buy a couple at this price?

They're casting a spell.  Counter it.  Tough strategy.  ;)

Adding uncounterables increases strategy to control deckbuilders because it forces you to include alternate answers.

Many answers to threats ({Doom Blade}, {Oblivion Ring}...) have limits.  {Counterspell} can answer almost any threat, big or small, because practically every deck casts spells.  The only things that come to mind that {U} doesn't have an immediate answer for are lands and Thrun.

{U} needs more weaknesses to improve balance IMHO.

Hmm, okay. As someone who plans selesnya, I guess I can still make room for it.
I doubt it, personally. Once he's in play, he can be dealt with, and his {1}{G}{W} cost is nearly un-splashable.

Personally I would be very happy of blue had a power loss. I DON'T Want deliver being just as good as before! Wizards needs to do something about the face that blue decks are just so good. The uncounterables aren't amazing, but most seem somewhat playable.

scarsabrex

Uncounterables are necessary for a game like magic. destroy has regenerate and indestructible, targeted spells have have shroud and hexproof. burn has life gain etc. counterspells being the final answer in a game like magic is ridiculous, it being a game based on deck preparation.

Split-Second was another anti-counter...

Based on the "need for an answer" argument, why aren't more people clamoring for a way to remove poison counters (short of {Leeches})? ???

or emblema for that matter

Ask anyone that has played cawblade how good delver is.

Edit.
Even more so after rotation with no swords to protect it.
