I figured as I approach nearly 1,000 posts, I should do something positive for the board. We have some redundant threads, and no real place for someone to introduce themselves. Hopefully the mods feel free to hijack this post and add popular topics of discussion.

I find it ironic that two of those threads up there were made by a banned member.

Duals of the Planeswalkers 2013? If the deck you're having a problem with is Chandra, I suggest a deck like "Peacekeepers". In general white decks are easy to play, have ways to gain life, ways to control creature attacking and lots of weak creatures that can swarm.

White is usually the best of all playstyles. It doesn't draw cards (that's blue), it doesn't accelerate your mana (green), it doesn't destroy creatures (red and black) but it does similar things.

Hi, i used to play magic back during seventh edition threw torment and am wondering what the best way to get back into it would be to have a decent enough deck to play competitively in standard tournaments, should i buy a box, and or???

Welcome aboard. You wanna play Standard huh? Luckily for you, this is one of the best standard environments in a long time. All five colors are good, and with a few exceptions are worth exploring.

The question of how to amass a new collection is going to be based around your budget. If you've got money to spend the the sky is the limit. What kind of player are you? Do you like casting big creatures? Controlling the board? Our standard forum has plenty of decks ranging from expensive to budget.

Thanks for the reply!!! I recently DL magic online and ive been enjoying the exalted decks along with the goblins, as far as budget im not trying to spend a fortune but i know starting a new collection and wanting to play competitivley is going to require a little, i am really looking forward to going to my local game shops for FNM with new game types like two headed giant and pack wars ive been missing out!!!

That's great. Exalted is a relatively inexpensive aggro deck to build. It's also fun, and gets out of hand very quickly. {Sublime Archangel} and {Silverblade Paladin} are likely the most expensive cards you'd be looking for.

FNM is a place to learn abunch about Magic and how it plays, win great prizes and meet new people. Magic is the most popular it has ever been, with record setting attendance at events around the world. It's as good a time as any to get back into it.
