Rules / Undying + tokens
February 25, 2012, 07:40:58 AM
If a token is given undying, does it work? I know that tokens don't go to the graveyard when they die, but does that negate undying?
For instance zombie token + {mikaeus, the unhallowed} or undying evil.

True but not standard. And it's really not that hard to get on the board.
Especially with {increasing ambition} or self-mill plus {havengul lich} and/or {zombie apocalypse}.
This combo is in my zombie deck and i didn't even notice, hilarious

And the other bonus of the mask is hexproof so they can't take it out without destroying the mask first. Also because damage is prevented this stops lifelink or deathtouch from working.

Combo Corner / Indestructible hydra take 2
February 24, 2012, 10:50:14 PM
{protean hydra} and {mask of avacyn}

this is similar to the other hydra combo floating around with {melira, sylvok Outcast } and {phyrexian hydra }, but the hydra gets stronger every time its damaged, and can block things much bigger than itself without fear.

Thanks to all!
You all had good suggestions, and saw things I probably should have(but didn't) and I will try to implement those that I can afford. You guys are great, thanks.

Bugs:
Limiting searches to rarity doesn't work
Limiting searches to "Innistrad block" doesn't work (may not work with other blocks too - needs testing)

That happens to me to, just hit the filter button twice, and it will update it. :)

Personally I think they are over stated and should be removed from the game. Reason? Becuase it dictates on what is hypothetically a good card.

Example? Snapcaster being worth than most of the mythic rates in innistrad. And this isn't a lone example.

It's silly on how much a hobby can cost espcially on decent cards. Booster packs or trading.

It isn't that how rare something is determines how good it is, it is that how powerful the card is thought to be in production that does so. The fact that {snapcaster mage} is rare rather than mythic is that it is a really powerful card, and the devs didn't think it would be as powerful as it has proven to be. The reason it costs more is that a lot of people want it and there weren't as many of those printed as {dead weight} for instance. In fact right now, {immerwolf} is more expensive than {helavault}, despite being uncommon.

In summary, I personally do not think that rarity is overstated, and I think it is a crucial part of the game.

I do think that it is a little expensive for a hobby, but hey it can be worth it. ;)

{Hero of Bladehold} enought said

I wish. Unfortunately, a little expensive for my budget, but thanks for the suggestion. :)

4 cards in here are good but not consistent enought the cards are: {blood gift demon} {spellskite} {tribute to hunger} and{preators grasp} other than that it looks really good.

Wouldn't {spellskite} be keeping titans or sphinxes from destroy spells? It seems that it would keep them alive long enough to get out {evil twin} or {cackling counterpart}.

as for {bloodgift demon}, That'd work perfectly with sphinx, and allow faster draw of titan, twin or counterpart.

I agree that {tribute to hunger} and {praetor's grasp} don't really fit, but all said, solid deck.

It would be either the one pack of m12 i bought on a family roadtrip that had {gideon jura} in it (only pack of m12 ive bought), or the time i got 2 fat packs of innistrad, then on a whim got two boosters, one innistrad one m11 (meant to grab m12 :) ), the fat packs had nothing of significance, but the m11 had a {platinum angel}, and the innistrad had {garruk relentless} and {mikaeus, the lunarch}.

If you do keep in {blood-crazed neonate} (i highly suggest you do) you should try adding more low-cost destroy particularly {tribute to hunger} because it bypasses both indestructable and protection from black on creatures, {sorin's thirst} or {dead weight}. Another possibilty is adding {curse of the stalked prey} or {stormkirk captain} to make neonate work faster, and strengthen any other attack. Don't just drop it because it needs to attack every turn, it will work well by itself b/c it will get out there fast, and if you have the ability to get rid of its opposition, it can be a very powerful card.

All in all a good deck, but maybe that's just me ;)

Edit: just noticed you already have {stormkirk captain}, srry.

My first attempt at a standard deck. It has playtested rather well (so much so that no one in my play group wants to face it lol), but i think it could be better. If anyone has any helpful comments, feel free to share.
