Rules / Re: Flip walkers as commanders
August 04, 2017, 11:41:23 AM
While they can be used as commanders, their flipped form is not the same creature, as such their damage, once fliped, will not act as commander damage

Yes.

Hypothetically when playing commander and you play shahrazad do commanders in command zone follow you to the sub game?
Hypothetically your opponent just auto-conceded as it is banned in all formats.

That said, if it was not banned, it would be a matter of house rules. That said, IMO, the sub-game would be played without the commanders because,
1. The card makes no specfication of using them.
2. Because the commanders can be in a  variety  of places, Czone, battlefield, GY, hand. It would require making note of their place and status before the sub game.

Can you produce mana in EDH other than your commanders identity?
Yes, while you can't include cards outside of your commanders colors, you can produce mana outside of it. This is useful in some decks that focus on stealing/casting other people's stuff.

Originally this was not the case, but it was changed with the introduction of eldrazi that needed colorless mana to be cast.

Actually Thanatos you are wrong. The color of mana produced restriction rule was removed in January of 2016.

It makes me happy to see all the new people on the forum, shame they are all fake.

Run less creatures?

Honestly probably would need something to end it before it happens,  cards like {Lost Legacy} might help.

Rules / Re: I'm new to magic

A spell can only target a walker when the walker falls within the targeting distinctions. {hero's downfall} and {utter end} can both take out a walker for example.

As for using something like {lightning bolt} to kill a walker see rule 212.9g, because of it you would shave 3 loyalty counters off of the walker.

212.9g If noncombat damage would be dealt to a player by a source controlled by an opponent, that opponent may have that source deal that damage to a planeswalker the first player controls instead. This is a redirection effect (see rule 419.6c) and is subject to the normal rules for ordering replacement effects (see rule 419.9). The opponent chooses whether to redirect the damage as the redirection effect is applied.

I was told when a spell targets a player, you can target a Planeswalker instead
That's incorrect. Only spells/effects that deal damage can have their damage redirected to a planes walker

Seems the most likely
Agreed. We lost a handful of active people to keep one person. I miss noble and link. Me a noble used to always talk about our BUG decks in standard and link was everywhere. I still play hearthstone with link.

Another interesting correlation was how the population started to decline as Piotr became more active.

Yup, this is the only topic on the whole forum that even gets replies. Sure some people still post decklists but no one comments on them. Heck we had a new set drop and no one even is talking about it. I think it's safe to say iMtG forums is on its last legs.

Cailin Renave {R}{R}{B}{B}{W}{W}{2}
Planeswalker - Cailin

[+1] Put a token copy of target Angel, Demon or Dragon you control onto the battlefield under your control. Exile that token at the beginning of the next end step.

[-3] Gain control of all Angels, Demons or Dragons till the end of your turn. They gain haste till end of turn.

[-6] You get an emblem with "At the end of your first combat phase, untap all creatures you control. You gain another combat step after the first one."

{3} Loyalty

For the +1 you might want to add haste to the tokens.

This site is more or less dead at this point. Just a handful of people arguing in the "last post wins trend." Look at the spoiler topic for the new set, no one is even talking about it.

Spoilers are rolling in now. New embalm mechanic seems interesting. New Gideon seems over powered IMO unless we get some good planeswalker removal. 3 mana and for 0 gets an emblem with "as long as you control a Gideon planeswalker you can't lose the game and your opponent can't win the game"
