Doesn't Leylines in Legacy play it?

Best deck ever and yes, it very important to have {Serra's Sanctum} Opening hand.

That's how I built my mill deck (albeit ages ago) I ran Ensnarong bridge 2 verdicts and made it mostly control but tapping low on T2-4 is awful and then late game it's still risky.

Has anyone tried tutelage? I'm liking it with {Ancestral Recall} in the deck

I may try it as a replacement for mesmeric orb, as I also run thought scour for extra draw.  Will see how it goes.

My deck is roughly 65/75 as compared to yours. I once had ashiok but realised that for 3 mana i would rather just mill them out for another 8-10 cards. Is that why you dont play it?

The main difference in my list to yours is that i run a bit of disruption as well, as well as a very light counter suite (that im still not quite sold on.) I also have 22 lands. But im running 2 x ghost quarter main board, as that helps fuel archive trap, and if they are refusing to search their library i just nuke my own land when i have a couple of crabs out.

As to the ashiok, I played him when {heroes downfall} had its run and realized I was spending 3 mana to mill 3, so I traded him out for the funeral, I should try him back in again to see how he works, as he also takes a target off my back for a short amount of time.  I'll get back to u on that.

Also, why no oboro?  It's strictly better than an island and helps in case no land drop for crab?

Mill has always had a soft spot in my heart, nobody likes it when they see the card they needed to draw was right on top and goes straight to the yard.  BUT, problem is mill is maybe tier 2, maybe...  It doesn't have the power that it needs.  It's fun in all, but I don't see it ever being any higher than that without some seriously good cards printed.

That makes sense. Although, if you flashed an archive trap, could you play the trap cost?
Snapcaster checks the CMC, a Snappied Archive is ALWAYS 5. BTW, he's insane in here. Being able to run 8 Paths is pretty sick.

After checking the rules, this is correct, no 0 cost flashback. 8 paths is nice, however, engineered explosives also helps with destruction should I need it.  I only run 10 non land permanents

Oh and I forgot, u need {oboro, palace of whatever}.  Remove a normal island for it.  It's a free Hedron crab proc if u have no land to drop that turn.

Yes u could, but then there is another problem, what to take out for 4 snaps?

A little of both, proxied him for a little (because omg that's expensive as f...)  it's nice and all, but in the end ur paying 4 mana for mill 10 (hopefully) and all u get is a cheap blocker.  There's no shenanigans either because mill is sorcery speed so it's not like u can even use his flash.  And since I run phantasm, I don't really need the blocker so all in all, it's not worth running.  But in my original list he was there. :P

The problem with RIP, is it isntantly makes {crypt incursion} useless.  Thus making your job of staying alive, harder.  After some testing and critique, I opted out on them.

I deal with most of the delve cards by adding  {jace's phantasm}. Great 1 drop, a 5/5 flyer t2-3.  Also helps against slower decks or (occasionally) tron when u can change from mill to beat face.  {engineered explosives} can really help get rid of creature swarms or in your case rancor spam.  Just some helpful advice from another mill player.  Good luck and welcome to the club. :)

Rules / Re: Persist/Undying

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it possible for BOTH abilities to bring the same card back?  Wouldn't 1 ability trigger before the other, bringing it back with either a +1/+1 or -1/-1 respectively, then each additional time the creature would die it would be brought back by the opposite ability due to already having a +1/+1 or -1/-1 respectively?

Anoobass

My own spin on Anubis, Egyptian god.  Pronounced exactly the same but spelled way cooler.

I always read it as A Noob Ass. xD

Me too. Omg. XD
