Title: Gain control
Post by: Juggalonoke on July 08, 2012, 04:47:32 PM
If I gain control of of my opponents creature for good do I gain control of any enchantments on the creature as well or no?

They're attached to the creature and give it their effects, but you don't control them. Like if someone had {lifelink} on their creature you stole, you would gain life when they dealt damage. But if they had {Armadillo Cloak} or something, your opponent would still gain life. I think.

The auras yes because there attached to the creature making those creatures have those effects. Equipment on the other hand those will just fall off the creature.

No, you take equipment too. But the equipments owner can reattach it to another creature they control for the equip cost.

Could you "attach" it using its attach option instead of equipping it to another creature, in response?

Yes, attach is at instant speed.

If you use something like {Volition Reins} to steal equipment you can equip it at will, if that's what you mean.

Yes the reins are good for stealing planeswalkers I wouldn't waste it on most equipment except a sword though

They don't in order to use their abilities.  It doesn't matter though.

The abilities on the card {Volition Reins} are separate.
1st. You enchant the creature.
2nd. If it is tapped, untap it.
3rd. You gain control of it.

It is the same exact thing as {Mind Control} but you get to target a permanant  When you {Mind Control} something that is tapped, it stays tapped.
{Volition Reins} just adds in the untap feature.
