Quote from: E.kann1 on November 27, 2014, 04:59:55 PMIt's called singleton theory. The point is to make your deck unpredictable, diversify your deck and eliminate unwinnable situations, with the idea being that there has to be at least something in your deck that can overcome the situation. For example, game one you might use {Boros Charm} to save the team, now games two and three he/she might play around {Boros Charm}, but he/she won't realize {Izzet Charm} is in your deck
Also, I agree that so many of those singletons might be bad.

Quote from: ConanEdo on November 27, 2014, 07:26:19 PMVery true, singleton theory is really better when the two cards are extremely similar, or serve similar purposes, and is at it's best when applied to threats rather than answers.Quote from: cltrn81 on November 27, 2014, 06:14:26 PMThis doesn't take into account that you may draw Izzet charm, but you really really want boros charm. There is definitely something to be said for redundancy and consistency, especially in such a tempo/aggro deck.Quote from: Agrus Kos, Enforcer of Truth on November 27, 2014, 05:39:18 PM+1Quote from: E.kann1 on November 27, 2014, 04:59:55 PMIt's called singleton theory. I don't understand why Fulminatir Mage is so good...
Quote from: Vindog on November 29, 2014, 10:07:36 PMI considered Keranos and if I do stick with this idea, he will be SB at a minimum. But with this much token generating......Purph can do a lot of ETB damage, not to mention the half {trumpet blast} he does
If you are taking the delver theme {Keranos, God of Storms} might be better than purphorosor if your taking tokens take it tokens all the way, how has it played being split?
Quote from: Mattao19 on November 30, 2014, 02:36:30 AMYes I did. I play a lot of modern and I still don't understand why he's so goodQuote from: Munchlax on November 30, 2014, 01:50:49 AM

Quote from: Mattao19 on November 30, 2014, 02:02:56 PM*Slows them downish ;)
This^^ plus {Scapeshift} is becoming more and more popular now and Mage slows them down
Quote from: Mattao19 on December 01, 2014, 12:13:03 AMOk thanks
Mage is used bc it's a body too it's like why does Scapeshift run {Sakura Tribe Elder} when {Farseek} is the same with nonbasics. In these cases the body is huge! (Not literally huge lol)
Also {Living End} is a thing
