Any feedback and criticism welcome.  Atm flying is my biggest problem, as well as Gary (since my friend absolutely LOVES running him).  Also wondering if I should swap 2 griffs for 2 {deicide}.

well if this is building around post rotation then {gray merchant of asphodel} wont be as much of a problem anymore since monoblack loses so many pieces. it may still still be a deck because of {thoughtseize} but losing {pack rat} hurts.

{Kiora's follower} for early ramp or late untapping the chain veil

You also have the wrong Ajani in...assuming you meant steadfast?

I would cut two Ajani steadfast for one more mentor and one more kiora

Yea, thanks for noticing (oops).  I feel 4 steadfast is best as the lifelink also helps when I run against aggro and can't slow them enough, not to mention that his -2 also makes a huge threat if I have any other walker out.  I could pull a veil for another kiora though, running a 1 of might not be horrible.

Any other ideas?

My friend pretty much only makes black decks so I'm assuming post khans he will try to rebuild mono B.

Do you see something I could take it out for?  The only thing atm is maybe the mystics but I like having a t1 drop if I get my chance.

I would say pull two mystics but honestly if you're only running one veil it may not be worth it

Reason I like mentor over steadfast is his dig ability...maybe side 1 steadfast for aggro matchups?

So 3 mentor, 3 steadfast, 3 kiora, 1 veil, an take out a griff maybe for the last steadfast?

Sounds good but playtesting is the true answer :)

Now that I don't agree with.  Sorry but ephara helps my draws and courser hits the lands off the top, I never seem to have any trouble with lands.

I'd say u need 24 lands also... This deck needs 3 lands in open hand almost every time...

Absolutely, I can even see going to 25 if you want to play control-ish.

So, aside from an opponent wasting a kill spell on my mystic, how would it help to trade him for a land.  Because basically you're saying that if I would draw that mystic, instead I would draw a land, but if I could play the mystic I instead get an extra mana ahead of my opponent.  I just feel that trade seems pointless.  Or am I missing something?

But a {lightning strike} is probably the best burn spell in standard atm.  Aside from {satyr firedancer} combo, using that on a 1/1 mana guy seems far less important than one of the 5 walkers I have or me.

I don't mean to argue or anything, I just feel that someone who played against my deck would see that removing a 1/1 mana dork is far less important than most of my other cards.

Id move Brimaz to the sideboard and cut both Ephara and {Horizon Chimera} (as painful as it is to say that, I love Chimera). This would give you room for more lands, {Dissolve}s or {Jace's Ingenuity}. I understand the {Soul of New Phyrexia} is a safe guard against {Fated Retribution}, but Id test moving it to the sideboard in favor of counterspells, because they have more versatility and are always good.

Brimaz I'm on te fence about even keeping in the deck, he's just really nice with ephara for draws. Soul and chimera are my wincons after I delay the game enough to trample over everything with ajani's counters.  Might try out the ingenuity instead and put some quickling mainboard.

Hitting a mystic early with a kill spell isn't a waste especially with your low land count... That could cripple you... Enough for a red deck to run u over before u even get the land u need... I'd also consider some disruption yourself... Maybe banishing lights

Newly updated, testing atm dropping ephara for an extra forest and island.

Also, now that I've added {banishing light} to my side, should I change {back to nature} to {naturalize}.  Unless anyone really sees constellation decks surviving rotation.
